When John Beaumont (Beaumont Haulage) called it a day in '89, I got a start with Peter Roff in Leighton Buzzard. Started with an F12 Globetrotter, and after a few months moved onto an F16 Globetrotter (F366 JUD). Mainly doing trailer swaps in Dover, occasionally shipping over and swapping trailers at the Total in Zeebrugge, and finally getting my first taste of proper european work with a run down to Stuttgart. I have hundreds of photos taken during the year I was with Peter, unfortunately at the moment I can find only this one:
Friday afternoon at Panalpina, Milton Park, Didcot. F366 JUD is the middle one of these three:

After leaving Peter Roff, I then had 2 months with Sidney.J.Edwards in Leighton Buzzard, which was all UK work other than a short trip to Arras, and a much longer one to Naples. Then it was off to Pulleyns, thanks to my mad Scottish mate Jocky Wright, who was working there and had put a word in for me. I don't recall even going for an interview!!
